We believe that every high school student in America should have the right to pursue a college education. Our Upward Bound program is federally funded by the US Department of Education to help students succeed in high school and prepare for their future!

Services provided include:

  • One-on-one academic advising and support
  • Tutoring
  • Career exploration
  • Workshops (ACT, SAT, College Success, etc.)
  • Fieldtrips (college visits, cultural events)
  • Fee waivers (college applications, exams)
  • Summer College Simulation Program and Summer Field Studies Tour
  • Advising on financial aid and scholarships
  • Increased college eligibility and preparedness
  • Assistance in selecting the right college and major

We strive to demystify the process and help our participants overcome the academic and financial challenges associated with pursuing a college education.

On behalf of all of us at Upward Bound, thank you for your interest in our program.

In this section we will be asking about household size and family taxable income.

For household size, please indicate how many people are living in your household, include all children and adults - even adult children who are attending college.

What is your total household size?

Family Taxable Income

Taxable income is not the same as your total income or adjusted gross income. This information is found on your 1040 form.

Taxable income is your adjusted gross income minus your deductions. For example – I have a family of 4 and my taxable income is about 40-50% of my total income. For larger families, your taxable income might be less.

Tax forms change from year to year and it can difficult to find this information. If you cannot easily find your family taxable income, call director Heather Maib at (208) 885-6880 or email hmaib@uidaho.edu.

*Upward Bound adheres to federal, state, and university policies on the protection of confidential student information and records, including FERPA.
